Police break up fight between fans at Warriors-Lakers game

It’s not uncommon for bad things to happen when Los Angeles fans and Bay Area fans meet. That appeared to be the case on Saturday night at Chase Center, when police had to get involved in breaking up an altercation between fans during the Warriors’ 125-120 loss to the visiting Los Angeles Lakers.

The fight broke out with around six minutes left in the game, with the Lakers leading the Warriors 112-100, at which point an officer moved in to stop it. The fan on the ground can be seen asking the officer for help getting up. The caption of the video suggests that the fan on the ground, who was wearing a purple shirt, was a Lakers fan.

The Warriors close that 12-point gap to as close as 116-111 with 3:13 left in the game, but never got closer than five points, the difference the game finished at thanks to a Jordan Poole layup with 1.7 seconds remaining.
