Klay Thompson steps up involvement in promising practice video

Head coach Steve Kerr said Thursday night that he feels like the Warriors are finally out of the woods.

To me, it feels like it’s on again. We’re now through the woods,” Kerr said. “We can start looking ahead and use these games to reach a higher level of play.”

Stephen Curry, after a more than four-month long absence, returned to the court on Thursday, scoring 23 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 assists. More valuable than anything was his contagious zeal, which turned a game between a 14-48 Warriors team and a 43-18 Toronto Raptors team into a game that genuinely felt at times like it could be a playoff matchup.

Now, Klay Thompson isn’t going to return this season. Kerr and the Warriors have made that much clear, officially ruling him out for the season last month. But whatever the reason, Thompson was back on the Warriors’ practice court on Friday, participating, as described by The Athletic’s Anthony Slater, in a way that hasn’t been seen before in this season.
