There are cheat days, and then there’s what Tim Lincecum did when he visited In-N-Out Burger during his time in the Bay Area.

Brought back to light by a piece on MLB.com detailing the strangest eating habits of baseball players over the years, Lincecum’s order at the famous burger joint is the stuff of legend. As first reported by Bob Nightengale in 2011, Lincecum would get three Double-Doubles, two fries and one chocolate-strawberry shake as his standard order. What’s more, Lincecum would shed the veggies, but add ketchup, on the burgers.

“I’m not a big vegetable guy,” he told USA Today.

For those keeping score at home that’s a grand total of 3,150 calories: Three burgers at 590, two fries at 395 and a shake at 590.

While that total exceeds even the loftiest recommendations for daily caloric intake, Lincecum had a metabolism “through the roof,” and actually had trouble putting on weight throughout his MLB career, maxing out at 168 pounds.

Giants manager Gabe Kapler also made MLB’s list thanks to his interesting method of eating McDonald’s chicken nuggets. If you haven’t heard that one, here’s a retelling:

“Back when Kapler was in college, he forgot his usual meal while on a road trip, forcing him to eat at McDonald’s with the rest of his teammates. So he did what any normal person would do: He ordered 40 chicken nuggets, then patiently peeled the breading off of each and every one of them. (Hey, it beats spitting out your ice cream.”
