The Rams announced their new look with three fire emojis. NFL fans and a certain divisional rival then reached for their flamethrowers.
The Los Angeles club’s rebrand arrived Wednesday and included a blue jersey with either blue or yellow pants and an off-white combination on top and bottom. The most peculiar aspect from this view is the gradient numbering, Jared Goff’s No. 16 starting at the top as yellow and finishing at the bottom as white.
The colors do look similar to the iconic St. Louis Rams unis, though the new scheme includes “Rams Royal, “Sol” and “Bone” — that’s the off-white — a deparature from the apparently boringly named navy blue, light gold and white.
Saying social media was split on the uniforms would be overly kind; the great majority ripped the reveal. Including the 49ers.
It may be May 13, but the 49ers have the early lead on the Rams.
