New 49ers offensive lineman once had a cameo in ‘Sharknado 3’

New 49ers acquisition Tom Compton is a renaissance man, and not just because he can play multiple positions on the offensive line.

You see, Compton is a thespian, as evidenced by a brief yet memorable cameo appearance in the made-for-television “Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!” in 2015. It’s the third installment of the six part “Sharknado” series, a film franchise that revolves around a unique natural disaster: tornados filled with sharks.

Compton plays an NBC News correspondent named Tom Levinson, who is interviewing Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Bachman (playing herself) regarding evacuating cities on the eastern seaboard due to the disruptive sharknados.

“Do you know anything about the nature of these shark storms? Are they growing in size?” Compton asks. Unfortunately, Bachman says it’s “too premature” to say yet whether or not that is true.

Though Compton has never spoke publicly about his cameo, parts of “Sharknado 3” were filmed in the D.C. area during his time in Washington, which would also explain the cameo of his former teammate Ryan Kerrigan.

Despite being panned by critics, the movie seems like a fantastic quarantine watch.
