49ers’ Kendrick Bourne speaks at Black Lives Matter rally in Bay Area

Like the rest of the country, the Bay Area has demonstrated en masse over the past few weeks, as the outcry for racial justice and police reform in the wake of the George Floyd murder has reached a fever pitch.

That includes members of professional Bay Area sports teams. Warriors players including Stephen Curry were once again seen marching this week in Oakland during Black Lives Matter protests. The same can be said for 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne, who even got up and addressed the crowd during a protest in the Bay Area. Bourne also took a knee after shouting out Colin Kaepernick.

“I might be the one that makes other players put their selves out there,” Bourne said. “… I love the Bay, so all the protests that are going on everywhere, keep it up, stay strong. Black pride, man, you know what it is. BLM.”
