Aaron Judge wants in on ‘stacked’ 49ers roster, George Kittle approves

The coronavirus pandemic has the large majority of us stuck at home. All that free time can turn into some big-time daydreaming, and Yankees slugger Aaron Judge was not immune.

Judge – who grew up in Linden, California, a small town just east of Stockton – was tagged on Twitter recently by Steve Detwiler, the Varsity Baseball Coach at San Rafael High School. Detwiler suggested that if Major League Baseball can’t get it’s ducks in a row and line up games in 2020 the San Francisco 49ers should sign Judge.

And it seems like Judge is game.

“There’s a chance, but they’re stacked!” he replied.

That may be so, but there still could be room on the roster if George Kittle has anything to say about it. A day later the 49ers Pro Bowler quote tweeted Judge with a GIF of The Rock beckoning Judge to The Bay.

The 6’7″ Judge was a wide receiver in high school, and set touchdown records for Linden High School. The football programs at UCLA, Stanford, and Notre Dame wanted Judge to be a Tight End in college, but he ended up committing to play baseball at Fresno State.

We can see it now. Jimmy Garoppolo drops back, the entire defense shading to cover the All-Pro Kittle on one side of the field. But wait!!! There goes Judge, streaking down the opposite sideline for the touchdown!!!

Maybe this is all just a big joke on Twitter, with two professional athletes passing the boredom like the rest of us. Maybe it’s completely insane to imagine Aaron Judge would jeopardize his flourishing baseball career by playing a sport he hasn’t played in years. Maybe this would never happen.

Maybe not.

No, you’re right. This is definitely all a joke.
