It is unlikely we shall ever experience a baseball season as bizarre as the one that’s coming in a month’s time. Baseball is returning, finally, after the MLBPA and MLB failed to reconcile just about any of their differences in a horrendous period of negotiations, leaving us with a 60-game season. Still, it’s baseball, and at the end of this season, someone will still be holding the World Series trophy.
According to Caesars Sportsbook, that team will almost certainly not be the San Francisco Giants.

Only the Baltimore Orioles have worse odds to win the World Series than the Giants, who are tied with the likes of the Seattle Mariners, Pittsburgh Pirates, Kansas City Royals, Miami Marlins and Detroit Tigers.
It’s been four years since the Giants last made the playoffs, when they lost to the Chicago Cubs 3-1 in the National League Division Series. Despite having the salaries of the aging Buster Posey, Brandon Belt, Brandon Crawford, Johnny Cueto, Evan Longoria and Jeff Samardzija still on the books, the club is about two years from seeing out most of those deals and is firmly in rebuilding mode.
