Joe Staley might be retired, but he has yet to stop serving as a motivational leader for some of the young members of the 49ers.
Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne shared a message Staley sent him over the weekend, in response to Bourne’s post of some of the modest accolades he’s received throughout his young career.

“U need way more meaningful trophies than this. Never lose sight of the goal. The ring,” Staley wrote to Bourne. “That’s all that matters in what we do. I never got it. You. Mr KB!! Go get it!! Fucking GET IT!! Make me proud bro. I love watching your hustle. All love.”
Bourne responded: “I love u. Joe! Everything you’ve done for me! Real talk seeing u that day at the gym the other day! Made me so happy! And I will keep grinding and go get it! For you for us!!! The team! Everyone!!!”
Staley has hinted at being interested in coaching down the line. The way young players look up to him, it would seem Staley would be a valuable member of any staff.
