Back on June 10, Johnny Cueto posted a series of videos facing former teammate Eduardo Nunez in which Cueto appeared to get the better of Nunez, and was firmly supported in the comment section, as he called for opinions.

“What do you think of this pitch? Is this a ball or a strike?” Cueto asked in one caption. “Was this pitch a ball too” he asked in another. His videos got a surprising amount of engagement from current and former major leaguers.

“Take a seat” Denard Span commented. “Nunie that was right down the middle papi!!!” George Kontos said, “You looking MUY fuerte though Nice trabajo,”

Other major leaguers like Sam Dyson, Prince Fielder, Carlos Santana, and Fernando Tatis all jumped in the fray with one thing or another. Nunez was also in the comments, defending himself for the most part, but he did tell Fernando Tatis “fue un día malo.” Translation: It was a bad day.

On Monday, Cueto, now in Oracle Park, as the Giants get their semi-dystopian training camp 2.0 underway, was asked about the interaction. His laughter when asked, “Who won?” belied the browbeating he said he gave to Nunez.
