Athlete-responding-to-random-people-on-Twitter stock is at an absolute all-time high, and 49ers legend Frank Gore is bullish.
Back in April of 2005 the San Francisco 49ers selected Gore with the first pick in the third round (65 overall). He would go on to rush for 11,073 yards and 64 touchdowns in 10 fabulous seasons with the franchise.
Gore is one of only eight players drafted in 2005 still active in The League. Darren Sproles is the only other running back still active from the ’05 draft class.
Frank the Tank is signed on for another year after he inked a one-year contract with the New York Jets in May. Some have speculated that Gore wants to stay in the league until his son Frank Gore Jr., a freshman running back at Southern Miss, has a chance to get drafted.
Twitter user TotalProSports had some fun with Gore’s longevity Wednesday, tweeting out a grainy old picture of Jim Brown in a Syracuse uniform and claiming it was on this date in 1934 that Gore got drafted by the 49ers.

Gore is one of six running backs currently signed to the New York Jets active roster. He’ll start the year behind Le’Veon Bell, but has a chance to make an impact with no other big names on the roster. The Miami product plugged away for 599 yards and two touchdowns in a full season for the Bills last year.
