Eagles WR Marquise Goodwin after heartbreak losing babies with his wife, says his newborn is why he is opting out ??

It’s hard to blame Marquise Goodwin for wanting to opt out of the 2020 NFL season.
A player who battled through a number of personal tragedies during his time with the 49ers, Goodwin’s wife, Morgan, had two miscarriages over the past three years. The Goodwins had a baby, Marae, on Feb. 19, 2020.
Marquise, now a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, explained on Twitter that the safety of his newborn is the reason he won’t be playing football in 2020.
“This right here, this is my reason y’all,” he said with the camera on Marae. “This is my reason I’m opting out for this season. After choosing football so many times, I feel like I’m inclined to make the right decision by finally choosing my family first, and that’s real talk.
“It’s known that the NFL is implementing safety protocols to combat COVID pandemic as well as other professional sporting leagues. I won’t take the chance of experiencing another loss because of my selfish decision making. I can’t do it. It’s not something I’m willing to live with, therefore I’ve chose to opt out playing and only for this season.”
In three seasons with the 49ers from 2017-2019, Goodwin accumulated 1,543 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. As of yet, no current members of the 49ers have opted out of the 2020 season.
