A pair of videos surfaced on Sunday morning showing dogs attacking an individual wearing a Colin Kaepernick jersey during a K-9 demonstration at a 2019 fundraiser at the Navy SEALs Museum near Fort Pierce, Florida. The U.S. Navy SEALs released a statement saying they are investigating the incident and that they publicly denounce the exercise being shown.

“The inherent message of this video is completely inconsistent with the values and ethos of Naval Special Warfare and the U.S. Navy,” the statement reads. “There were no active duty Navy personnel or equipment involved with this independent organization’s event.”

The first video shows four dogs being commanded to attack a man wearing a Kaepernick football jersey over heavily padded gear as people watch nearby. The second video begins with a dog attacking the man while he’s on the ground, and concludes with two men wearing fatigues and holding rifles telling him to roll over on his belly. When he complies, the Kaepernick stand-in says “Oh, man, I will stand,” eliciting laughter from the crowd.

According to ESPN, the videos were posted on Instagram last year.
