Kevin Pillar is no longer a member of the Giants, but he apparently still loves hitting at Oracle Park.
The now Rockies centerfielder got hits off Johnny Cueto in his first two at bats in his return to San Francisco on Monday, the second of which a blast that made its way over the left-field fence.
Pillar, last season’s Willie Mac Award winner, was traded to the Rockies on Aug. 31 by the Red Sox, the team he signed with last offseason after the Giants elected not to retain him. Pillar is posting slightly better numbers than his .264/.293/.442 slash line with San Francisco in 2019. Pillar is hitting .279/.325/.447 combined with the Red Sox and Rockies this season.
