Marquese Chriss calls Trump ‘dumbass’ over latest coronavirus comments

Warriors center Marquese Chriss is taking after his head coach.

Steve Kerr is known for his outspoken criticism of President Donald Trump, and that’s exactly what Chriss did on Twitter Tuesday morning.

In response to a video of Trump at a rally where he says that the coronavirus “affects virtually nobody,” Chriss responded with the following:

“Right…so people are dying and this shit not serious…Y’all let this dumbass say anything and you clap,” Chriss tweeted.

Trump’s take seems to be that even though the virus has claimed the lives of over 200,000 Americans, most of them have been elderly with preexisting conditions, and therefore the disease is not all that dangerous to the general public. That thesis on it’s face is true according to the data, as is the fact that if the general public acts as if they don’t have to stop the virus spread, it will continue to affect those high risk individuals at an alarming rate.

Trump’s fractured relationship with the Warriors, and the NBA for that matter, can be tracked back to the conclusion of the 2018 NBA Finals, when Trump got wind that the Warriors weren’t keen on visiting the White House. Trump publicly revoked the invitation, one that ironically was not going to be accepted.
