Guess who’s out, out again. Pettis’ out, out again. Dante Pettis’ comeback season continues to be literally anything but. The wide receiver, who head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed the team is “taking calls” for, has zero receptions on the season and will be benched for the third-straight game. It’s safe to assume that the 49ers will not come anywhere near the orbit of recouping the second-round pick they spent to trade up and draft Pettis in 2018.

On a more encouraging note, the team will have starting left tackle Trent Williams active, after he suffered a sprained ankle last week. He returned to practice on Thursday and was spoken about optimistically by Shanahan. Running back Jeff Wilson Jr., the only other questionable player this week, will also be active. Below is the list of the 49ers’ inactives:

  • QB C.J. Beathard
  • S Jaquiski Tartt
  • S Jimmie Ward
  • LB Kwon Alexander
  • CB Parnell Motley
  • WR Dante Pettis
