One of the Giants’ youngest players also has the most power.
Top prospect (No. 2 if you still consider Joey Bart a prospect) Marco Luciano didn’t just hit a bomb in an Instructional League game vs. the Rockies over the weekend, he had the hardest hit ball by a Giants player since Mac Williamson in 2016, according to Sarah Langs of MLB.
Luciano, 19, capped off the monster home run with a monster bat flip, tossing aside the lumber a la Jose Bautista.
In case you’re still not sold on the shortstop’s raw power, the only MLB player to have a higher exit velocity in a game this year was Giancarlo Stanton.
For the Giants, the future certainly looks bright.
