A ridiculous Steph Curry tunnel shot means Warriors basketball is back

A new season, unlike any other.

The same Steph, unlike any other.

To kick off the 2020-21 NBA campaign, or at least the start of its preseason, Stephen Curry reminded why he is just about as fun as basketball gets.

There are COVID-19 protocols that are not allowing fans in the Chase Center gym, there are reporters on hand who only broke through the doors after they tested negative, there was a basketball game set to take place between the Warriors and Nuggets, and there is Curry sinking shots from who knows where.

About an hour before Saturday’s preseason opener, Curry got the feed from a passer already out of bounds — read that again — and drained the rainbow from the tunnel opening. Without much celebration, he darted into the tunnel, and Warriors basketball is back.

There is no Klay Thompson, but there’s a Golden State game for the first time in nine months. The more things change, the more Steph stays the same.
