Trent Williams hints that he has re-signed with 49ers

It’s not official, but it sounds like we’re darn close to it being official. The top priority of the 49ers’ offseason was to re-sign Trent Williams and it appears like the sides got a deal done.

On Tuesday, KNBR’s own Greg Papa reported that San Francisco had offered Williams a four-year, $80 million deal, and NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero updated that, reporting that Williams was hoping to improve on that offer with other suitors like the Indianapolis Colts.

Well, stress no longer, 49ers fans. Williams, in a pair of Instagram stories shown above, all but confirmed that he’ll be re-signing with the 49ers.

In the video, posted by Tobias Dorzon, a professional chef, Williams is seen celebrating the new contract, as made abundantly clear by Dorzon’s, “You deserve every penny” caption.

Wednesday morning should provide us with confirmation of the deal as well as the figures, which will be more than $20 million, like for more than a half decade. The 49ers’ new franchise left tackle appears to be sticking around, just as he and the 49ers had hoped.
