Mauric-no!
Mauricio Dubon has been frustrated (for good reason) at the plate all season, and perhaps some of that energy was taken with him onto the Oracle Park basepaths on Tuesday.
Dubon was on first and Brandon Crawford on third with two outs in the fourth inning when Jason Vosler slugged his first extra-base hit of his young career, drilling a double to right field. The Rockies’ relay was on, and Ron Wotus’ stop sign was up, alerting a chugging Dubon to hold at third.
Dubon apparently never saw him, continuing to sprint right through Wotus — and we do mean through him. He ran right into the third-base coach, which makes Dubon out (and he was easily tagged out at home for good measure).
If it’s amusing to a fan, it won’t be to Wotus or Gabe Kapler. That was the last out of the inning of what was a 2-2 game.
