As the Giants and Dodgers square up for the first time in 2021, the outing, as expected, has been a pitchers’ duel.
The pitchers look better with their arms than their legs.
Alex Wood was trying to get through the sixth and had runners at first and second and two outs, facing Trevor Bauer. On a 1-0 count Bauer dropped a base-hit into right field.
Well, so we thought.
Mike Yastrzemski, who already had made several nice plays in right, came up with a big play again and turned the line drive into an out.
Even the broadcasters did not see the play coming.
“Yaz throws to first! I take it back! It’s not a base hit! He grounds out to Yastrzemski in right field,” Jon Miller exclaimed.
