Warriors new assistant coach was once part of insane brawl in Serbian League

The Warriors reportedly hired a new assistant coach who was not “averse to mixing it up” during his time in the Serbian league. We’ve got some proof of that.

Dejan Milojevic, who once coached NBA MVP Nikola Jokic in their native Serbia, is joining Golden State’s staff according to a report out of Montenegro. What is role will be — whether a replacement for Jarron Collins or something else — is unclear, what is clear is that you didn’t want to mess with Milojevic during his playing days.

Before taking up coaching, Milojevic played professional ball in Europe for 16 seasons (1994-2009), including a stint with Partizan from 2004-06 in the Serbian League. During that time, Milojevic was part of a wild brawl that took place in a game vs. fellow Serbian team Hemofarm (Boban Marjanović once played for them) which saw Milojevic come off the bench and throw multiple haymakers at the opposing team.

That’s enough exposition. Check out the entire fight above, or this shorter clip below. Milojevic is wearing the number 13 jersey on the team in white and bursts off the bench like a bat out of hell. (H/T to Sam Esfandiari for digging up this clip)
