The 49ers, along with the Jaguars and Cowboys, have been fined by the NFL for offseason workout violations. In addition to the fines, all three teams will forfeit OTA days next season.

The fines are significant. Kyle Shanahan has been fined $50,000, while the 49ers organization had been fined $100,000. The Cowboys were penalized the same amount. The Jaguars penalties were the most extreme, $200,000 for the organization and $100,000 for head coach Urban Meyer.

The 49ers released the following statement after news broke.

“The health and safety of our players is our highest priority, and we take following league rules very seriously. We will continue to work with the NFL and the NFLPA to ensure compliance.”

The nature of the violations is unclear at this time.
