Buster Posey goes yard vs. Dodgers in first at-bat of second half

It looks like the thumb is feeling okay.

Buster Posey opened Monday’s series opener vs. the Dodgers with a line drive home run in the first inning, making a statement in his first at-bat of the second half. Posey had missed the last two weeks, and the All-Star Game, with a thumb injury.

The thrilling start was made even more so in the next at-bat, when Wilmer Flores blasted a 1-0 Tony Gonsolin fastball 423 feet to left.

The fireworks continued in the bottom half of the inning, when the Dodgers cut the lead 3-2 with back-to-back homers from Max Muncy and Justin Turner.
