Giants announce tentative 2022 regular season schedule

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The San Francisco Giants released their 2022 regular season schedule today, which will feature the Giants opening the season in San Diego for four games beginning on Thursday, March 31. It will mark the 13th-consecutive year that San Francisco opens their season on the road.

Following the season-opening series at San Diego, the Giants will travel to Milwaukee for a three-game set, April 4-6, before returning to San Francisco for their Home Opener on Friday, April 8 versus the Miami Marlins. The Giants will also host the Padres for three games during the first homestand of the year from April 11-13.

The Giants’ 2022 Interleague schedule will feature visits by the Oakland A’s (April 26-27), Kansas City Royals (June 13-15), Detroit Tigers (June 28-29) and Chicago White Sox (July 1-3). The Giants will travel to Cleveland (April 15-17), Oakland (August 6-7), Detroit (August 23-24) and Minnesota (August 26-28) during Interleague play.

San Francisco’s 2022 schedule features two three-city road trips against Cleveland (April 15-17), New York-NL (April 18-21) and Washington (April 22-24) as well as Colorado (August 19-21), Detroit (August 23-24) and Minnesota (August 26-28). The Giants’ longest homestand of the year is a nine-game stint from June 7-15 versus Colorado (June 7-9), Los Angeles-NL (June 10-12) and Kansas City (June 13-15).

The Giants will play each of their National League West Division rivals 19 times – the Arizona Diamondbacks (10 home/9 away), the Colorado Rockies (9 home/10 away), the Los Angeles Dodgers (10 home/9 away) and San Diego Padres (9 home/10 away).

The Giants are on the road for Easter (Sunday, April 17 at Cleveland), Memorial Day (Monday, May 30 at Philadelphia), Father’s Day (Sunday, June 19 at Pittsburgh), Fourth of July (Monday, July 4 at Arizona) and Labor Day (Monday, September 5 at Los Angeles-NL). They play at home on Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 8 vs. St. Louis).
