Klay Thompson says Kris Bryant reminds him of himself, wants Giants championship

Boat Klay is always amusing, but Thursday’s version took it to another level.

On his boat in the San Francisco Bay on Thursday morning, Klay Thompson went on Instagram Live as he often does, and touched on a number of subjects. Most germane to the KNBR listeners were his takes on the Giants and their new acquisition Kris Bryant.

Not only does Thompson think that Bryant will help the Giants win a title, he thinks the two have a lot in common.

“Can we go Warriors and Giants champions this year?” Thompson said while steering his craft. “I mean the Giants are playing out of their minds. I love the Kris Bryant acquisition. I mean he’s a great player. Reminds me of myself: Tall, rangy, gun of an arm. Can hit the long ball.”

Though Klay hasn’t played baseball since he was a youngster, his brother Trayce is currently in the Cubs minor-league system and spent time playing for the White Sox, A’s and (shudders) Dodgers.

Klay then took the time to explain what kind of boat he has.

“I’m whipping an Axopar 37 sport. Look her up she’s an absolute knife. Cuts through this water like a freaking butter knife.”

He also shouted out one of his favorite local establishments.

“Shoutout Peet’s Coffee in Tiburon. It’s fire.”
