Kevin Gausman’s walk-off sacrifice fly wins it for Giants in the 11th

The 2021 Giants continue to amaze.

Friday was more of the same in the bonkers department from the best team in baseball. First there was Donovan Solano’s game-tying solo home run in the ninth with one strike remaining, a blast that sent the game to extras just a half inning after a three-run shot from the Braves gave them the lead.

Yet that didn’t take the cake for the wildest aspect of the night. That came courtesy of Kevin Gausman, who sent the Giants home in the 11th inning, with a walk-off sacrifice fly, scoring Brandon Crawford from third. Gausman was only up to bat because the Giants found themselves out of position players. Hilariously, facing a 3-2 count with the bases loaded, Gausman decided to swing, hitting it deep enough into right field to get the job done.

Gausman’s teammates swarmed him on the field afterwards, celebrating what has to go down as one of the least likely walk-off heros in Giants history.
