Martellus Bennett rips former teammate Jimmy Garoppolo for ‘being a b—h’

Martellus Bennett pulled no punches when sharing his thoughts about former teammate Jimmy Garoppolo on a recent podcast appearance.

The former Pats tight end ripped Garoppolo, saying he cost the Patriots a win for not playing through injury in a Week 4 loss to Buffalo in 2017, calling the 49ers QB a “bitch” multiple times.

“We lost two games bro,” Bennett said on the “Double Coverage with The McCourty Twins” podcast on Thursday. “One of them was because Jimmy Garoppolo was being a bitch. Decided not to play right before the game. Jacoby came in and played with a fucked up thumb and played his heart out, but Jimmy was just being a bitch about it all.”

Bennett then went a step further, implying that Garoppolo is just soft in general.

You can’t win with a bitch for a quarterback, first of all. That was the whole thing with him. He didn’t want to come out and do anything cause his agent was trying to protect his body or some shit like that, which I can’t fault him for that, but you should’ve made that decision on Thursday, not Sunday. You know what I’m saying?

“So anyways, he’s not going out there, so now Jacoby straps up and we lost to the Buffalo Bills. We shouldn’t have lost. It was just last-minute, trying to make adjustments for what Jacoby could do.”

The comments seem to run counter to the perception of Garoppolo during his tenure in San Francisco as a guy who tries to play through injury, like in last season’s Week 8 loss to the Seahawks.

It can’t be denied that Garoppolo is injured all the time though, and maybe that in itself is enough for Bennett to not think very highly of the 49ers QB.
