Shaquille O’Neal’s love for Stephen Curry is well documented. The big man has said that Curry is his favorite player in the NBA on multiple occasions.

He took things to a new level this week on his podcast, saying that he’s rooting for Stephen Curry and the Warriors over the Lakers now, and that he’s no longer interested in attending Laker games now that the Staples Center is called the Crypto.com Arena.

“I’m not even going anymore,” Shaq began on “The Big Podcast”.

“Who would want to watch them people play?” Shaq said of the Lakers. “I don’t celebrate seventh place at all. I celebrate Steph Curry, that’s who I celebrate. I’ll go to Golden State and watch him play.”

The Lakers and Warriors are on divergent paths this season. The Lakers, projected by many to be the class of the Western Conference, have struggled mightily, currently sitting at 14-13, good for sixth place. Meanwhile the Warriors, considered a bit of an enigma entering the season, have been as dominant as they were during the dynasty years, posting a league-best 21-4 record and +12.9 point differential.

The Warriors beat the Lakers in the season opener in LA, 121-114.
