The top three 3-point shooters to ever touch a basketball will all be in Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.

Stephen Curry, two 3s away from the all-time record of 2,973, will have quite an audience as he’s poised to officially become the NBA’s most prolific long range shooter ever. Reggie Miller, calling the game for TNT, will be courtside. Ray Allen, who holds the current record, will also be in the building.

Allen said he’d be attending the potentially historic game on Instagram, and his plans were also confirmed by Kron 4 News’ Jason Dumas.

When Allen broke Miller’s record in 2011 as a Boston Celtic, he and Miller shared a moment courtside.

“I’m just so happy for him, because this is one of the best guys,” Miller said of Allen on the 2011 broadcast. “He’s so humble, he’s so giving, he’s a great family man. I’m excited.”

Now all three of the sharpshooters will likely be a part of history.

It could be a long time until a similar moment in the NBA occurs. Curry is 33 years old and needed over 500 fewer games than Allen to reach the record. He’s on pace to shatter it, and told Miller in a sit-down interview that it could take a next generation of shooters to challenge his record by the time he’s done.

Curry has hit at least two 3s in every game but one this season. He’s coming off a 5-for-15 performance in the Warriors’ 102-100 win in Indiana, part of a recent stretch of poor shooting — by his standards.

Amid anticipation of the record, ticket prices for the Madison Square Garden have soared; the lowest single ticket on Ticketmaster as of Tuesday morning was $408. The average ticket price quadrupled to $1,334.

Miller and Allen don’t have to worry about that, though. Their front-row seats to history are reserved.
