With Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins still in the health and safety protocol, the Warriors have signed G-League guard Quinndary Weatherspoon to a 10-day hardship deal. The hardship deals are a new NBA rule that allows teams to add new players for every one they have in the health and safety protocol.

Witherspoon impressed in this week’s G-League showcase, scoring 19 points and adding four rebounds for the Santa Cruz Warriors. He also dropped 26 points on on Dec. 17. Witherspoon is averaging 15.6 points in nine games for Santa Cruz this year, but his shooting just 26.7% from deep.

Witherspoon, 25, was a second-round pick by the Spurs in 2019, and played in 31 games for them over two seasons, averaging 1.9 points just over six minutes per game.
