The 49ers have beaten the Rams six times in a row. They beat them in an incredible come-from-behind overtime win two weeks ago in Los Angeles to punch their ticket to the playoffs. Still, it’s not enough for the oddsmakers in the NFC Championship Game.

Los Angeles opened as 3.5 point favorites according to Caesars Sportsbook. Interestingly, the Rams closed as 3 point favorites before their before their most recent loss to the 49ers.

Since that win, the 49ers have won back-to-back road playoff wins against the Dallas Cowboys and top-seeded Packers. The Rams won their wild-card matchup vs. the Cardinals (34-11) at home in convincing fashion, but had to sweat out their divisional round matchup on the road vs. the Buccaneers (30-27). Closing games remains an issue for the the Rams and a strength for the 49ers.

History favors the 49ers in this matchup, and that’s not just because of their record vs. the Rams. In the 21 instances that a team beat another team twice in the regular season, only to face them again in the playoffs, the team that won the first two matchups holds a 14-7 record in the postseason game.
