Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson have a new partner in the studio.

Warriors forward Draymond Green signed a multi-year agreement with Turner Sports to appear on Inside The NBA, as his schedule permits, as an analyst throughout the season. It’s the first time an active player will contribute regularly to the Sports Emmy Award-winning show, according to Turner’s press release.

He’ll get to work right away, joining TNT’s postgame show after the Warriors-Timberwolves game Thursday night.

“I’ve had an amazing experience working with Turner Sports in recent years and I’m a big believer in the way they entertain and genuinely connect with fans on all levels,” Green said in the release. “Today’s announcement helps to formalize our relationship and I couldn’t be prouder to officially be a part of the of the TNT family.”

Green is one of the most insightful, candid and entertaining players in the league. He’s joined Inside The NBA before as a guest and has a strong rapport with Barkley, whom he recently detailed his affinity for. The three-time NBA Champion also host his own podcast.

The New York Post reported in August that ESPN was interested in signing Green as an on-air talent, and that he could be a potential successor to Barkley whenever he decides to step away from television.

Green is currently sidelined with an L5-S1 disc injury that at least initially caused discomfort in his left calf. More information on the nature of his injury will be announced when he’s re-evaluated on Sunday — two weeks after he suffered the injury.

The three-time All-Star is averaging 7.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game while leading the best defense in the NBA.
