Eye-popping Trey Lance practice videos highlight arm strength, mobility

The kid’s a natural, folks. We are months away from Trey Lance entering training camp as the 49ers’ starting quarterback, and we’ve only seen 10 full quarters of action from the 21-year-old Kyle Shanahan invested so much in to acquire.

So when there are some fresh clips of the hyper-athletic quarterback that surface, it’s hard not to overreact.

Javier Vega of the 4th and Gold Podcast released some impressive videos from Lance at 49ers practice this past season.

The eye-catching part of these videos is Lance’s ability to roll out and deliver well-thrown balls from different arm angles, sometimes off his back foot.

Reading too much into any of these is an exercise in futility, but it’s undeniably optimism inducing to see these plays knowing that Lance’s chance as the starter is on the horizon.
