The national baseball media is getting a little splash of San Francisco.

Former Giants Hunter Pence and Jake Peavy are joining MLB Network as full-time on-air studio analysts, the company announced Wednesday.

Pence, a four-time All-Star, played eight seasons with the Giants. He won rings in San Francisco both in 2012 and 2014 and was known for his rambunctious clubhouse speeches. In 2013, the right fielder helped preserve Tim Lincecum’s no-hitter with a diving catch.

Last year, Pence appeared occasionally on NBC Sports Bay Area’s Giants studio shows and as a color analyst.

“I’m thrilled about the opportunity to contribute to MLB Network,” Pence said via the press release. “As a former player, I’m excited to get back into the game in a new capacity and become teammates with a great group of talent at MLB Network.”

Pence was teammates with Peavy in 2014 — San Francisco’s third World Series championship in five years. Peavy spent the last three of his 15 MLB seasons in San Francisco. Peavy also won a ring in 2013 with Boston.

“Sharing stories and talking about the game a few months ago at MLB Network really excited me for this opportunity,” Peavy said in the release. “I’m looking forward to teaching a few tips I learned along the way while having some fun doing it.”

Peavy and Pence had both contributed to MLB Network’s programming as guests during the 2021 season. They’ll each appear on various programs going forward.
