The Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from playoff contention on Tuesday night. To be clear, they were eliminated from contention from the play-in game. They are 34-48 and could not make the 10 seed to have a chance at the play-in.

Later that night, “The Shop”, LeBron James’ roundtable show on HBO, aired a new episode.

James was asked who he’d like to play with in the modern NBA. The answer: Stephen Curry. There had been rumblings in the past that James has tried to recruit Curry and he openly praised him on this episode.

“In today’s game, shit, man, there are some motherfuckers in today’s game, but Steph Curry,” James said. “Steph Curry is the one that I want to play with for sure in today’s game.”

James mentioned Scottie Pippen and Penny Hardaway as legendary players of the past he would have liked to play with but said definitively that today, it’s Curry.

“But right now, it’s Steph,” James said. “Steph, when he get out his car, you better guard him, right from the moment he pulls up to the arena. Soon as he get out of his car, you better guard his ass. You might want to guard him when he get out of the bed.”

If those lines sound familiar, well… LeBron may or may not have taken inspiration from that line from this video.

The creator made the infamous, “I’m 36!” video that James quote tweeted, so it’s fair to say he might have seen this video. famous

James, now 37, has one year and $44.7 million left on his deal with the Los Angeles Lakers and has voiced his intent to play with his son, Bronny, if and when he enters the NBA.
