Inside the NBA laugh at notion Poole-Morant play was Flagrant: ‘I’ve been kissed harder than that’

A lot of people are rolling their eyes at the Memphis Grizzlies and their implication that Jordan Poole deserved punishment for what appeared to be an unintentional touching of Ja Morant’s knee, something that could keep him out of Game 4.

That includes the NBA, who decided that no action will be taken against Poole for the play.

It also includes the crew at “Inside the NBA”, who were shaking their collective heads that the play was dirty. Unsurprisingly, the strongest comments came from Charles Barkley.

“I’m like yo man, I’ve been kissed harder than that!” Barkley joked in frustration about the constant accusations about Flagrant fouls in this series.

The crew went on to try and recreate the Poole-Morant incident, with Kenny Smith grabbing Barkley’s knee to show that it’s not the type of thing that would cause an injury on its own.

“Structurally that would do absolutely nothing,” Smith said.

Interestingly, video from earlier in the fourth quarter of Game 3 seems to show that Morant may have partially injured the knee on a different play.
