Mavs’ Theo Pinson refuses to change white shirt after asked by official

The Mavs may be looking at a fourth fine this postseason following Game 3.

Dallas was fined for the third time this playoffs over the weekend for bench misconduct, stemming from an incident where bench player Theo Pinson held his hand up while wearing a white shirt in Game 2. Doing so appeared to confuse Stephen Curry, who passed the ball to Pinson, thinking he was a member of the white-jersey wearing Warriors.

The play led to a $100,000 fine, and also led to referee Marc Davis asking Pinson to change out of his white shirt before Game 3.

Davis asked Pinson to change the shirt because it’s the same color as the Warriors’ unis, and even says he’d buy him the new shirt. Pinson says that he’ll change it as long as Davis buys it.

Despite that, Pinson continued to wear the shirt throughout the game.

The NBA has escalated their fines to the Mavericks from 25K to 50K to 100K. It will be interesting to see if the league considers this latest incident to be a transgression.
