Giants provide updates on Belt, Wade, others, as McGee returns from rehab

The Giants are getting a valuable bullpen arm back in the mix.

The team announced that left hander Jake McGee returned to the squad from his rehab assignment and has been reinstated from the 15-day Injured List. Mauricio Llovera was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday in a corresponding move.

In other news, there are myriad rehab assignments underway. Here’s the roundup, per the organization:

  • 1B Brandon Belt (right knee inflammation) is continuing his rehab in San Francisco.
  • LHP Matt Boyd (recovering from left flexor tendon surgery) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session in Sacramento on Friday and will return to San Francisco afterwards to continue rehab.
  • C Curt Casali (concussion) remains in concussion protocol and is involved in all baseball activity.
  • SP Anthony DeSclafani (right ankle inflammation) is continuing his rehab in San Francisco.
  • OF Steven Duggar (left oblique strain) is continuing his rehab in San Francisco and is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment next Thursday, June 2.
  • OF Austin Slater (left wrist inflammation) is continuing his rehab in San Francisco and is planning on meeting the team on the road next week.
  • OF LaMonte Wade Jr. (left knee inflammation) is continuing his rehab in San Francisco and is scheduled to start baseball activities this weekend.
