Reds outfielder Tommy Pham will miss the remainder of the Giants-Reds season after being reprimanded for slapping Joc Pederson in the face.

Pham, according to multiple reports, agreed to a three-game suspension.

Pham and Pederson’s altercation occurred before the series opener on Friday night. The conflict, according to Pederson, stems from a dispute in a fantasy football league from last year.

Pederson said he didn’t retaliate when Pham slapped him. Violence is never an answer, he reasoned.

Pederson said he stashed an injured player on injured reserve in order to pick up a new one — something that’s standard in leagues — which Pham took umbrage with.

Pham, meanwhile, told reporters Saturday that Pederson “said some shit I don’t condone.”

According to The Athletic’s C. Trent Rosecrans, Pham added that he thought Pederson “said some disrespectful shit” about the Padres and “fucked with my money.”
