Klay rips ‘bum’ Jaren Jackson for ‘Strength in Numbers’ tweet

Winning his fourth NBA Finals was a joyous moment for Klay Thompson, but that didn’t mean he was going to let his adversaries off the hook.

Thompson slammed Grizzlies center Jaren Jackson for a tweet he sent after Memphis defeated the Warriors on March 28 earlier this season. The tweet read simply “Strength in Numbers”, with Jackson attempting to troll Golden State by referencing their old slogan.

Thompson didn’t forget about that tweet, and let him have it at the podium after the Warriors clinched on Thursday.

“There was this one player on the Grizzlies who tweeted ‘Strength in Numbers’ after they beat us in the regular season and it pissed me off so much,” Thompson said. “I can’t wait to retweet that thing. Frickin’ bum. I had to watch that, I’m like this freaking clown. Okay, okay. Sorry, that memory just popped up.

“You’re going to mock us? You haven’t even been there before, bruh. We’ve been there, we know what it takes. To be here again, hold that. Twitter fingers, can you believe it?

“I’ve got a memory like an elephant. I don’t forget. And there were a lot of people kicking us when we were down.”

The Warriors-Memphis rivalry was already a good one after their contentious playoff series this postseason. Klay’s comments on Thursday just took it to new heights.
