It’s day that ends in Y which means the Giants have injuries to think about.

The most pressing concern is Brandon Crawford, after his slip and slide into Braves catcher Travis d’Arnaud resulted in a worrisome collision which forced him out of the game in the fourth inning.

According to the Giants, the injury is nothing more than soreness. Gabe Kapler’s early assessment was that Crawford might just need a “couple of days” and his MRI results confirmed the Giants’ optimism.

Crawford’s ‘s MRI ruled out structural damage in his contused knee and there’s a possibility that he could play on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Luis González was scratched from the lineup with what the team is calling lower back tightness. In his stead, Evan Longoria will start at third with a shuffle of Wilmer Flores to second base, Tommy La Stella at designated hitter, Darin Ruf to left field and Joc Pederson to right field.

Below is the team’s updated lineup.

It’s the first time since June 4 that González won’t be in the starting lineup. He’d started for the Giants in 15-straight games prior to Wednesday night’s matchup with the Braves.
