The latest Kevin Durant saga has ended, and like his buddy Kyrie Irving, KD will be staying with the Brooklyn Nets following reports that he wanted out.

It’s just another day in the continuous drama that seems to surround the former Warriors superstar, who less than a month ago reportedly told Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai that he would only return to the Nets if general manager Sean Marks and head coach Steve Nash, who Durant hand picked, were fired.

Now all of Durant, Irving, Marks and Nash will return next year, in a hilarious conclusion to a truly bizarre offseason.

Not everyone is happy about the latest development.

NBA heel Patrick Beverley criticized Durant’s return on Twitter, arguing that his threat to leave cost players money with teams afraid to sign other free agents with KD on the open market. Durant responded to Beverley with “#BLAMEKD”.

It seems what happened to Durant is similar to what happened with Irving earlier this offseason. Both players wanted to leave, but realized they didn’t have much leverage. Durant in particular didn’t have any, considering he is under contract for four more years and isn’t going to hold out.

It will be interesting to see if the reports about all of the alledged issues between the parties affects the Nets on the court this year. Following the latest report, Brooklyn’s odds to win the NBA Finals jumped up from 18-to-1 to 11-to-1.
