It wouldn’t be a true 49ers season opener if there was not some injury news. The 49ers and the Bears released their Week 1 game status reports on Friday.

To no one’s surprise, neither George Kittle nor Daniel Brunskill are in line to play on Sunday. Neither practiced on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday this week, after Kittle suffered a groin injury in Monday’s practice.

Below are both team’s game status reports.

For the 49ers:

OUT: Daniel Brunskill (hamstring)

Questionable: George Kittle (groin)

It seems unlikely Kittle will play after not practicing for the last three days and given how early it is in the season, but Shanahan said he has a chance.

For the Bears:

Doubtful: WR Velus Jones (hamstring)

Questionable: DE Dominique Robinson (knee)

This will be the second-straight year the 49ers head to Soldier Field. Rain is in the forecast, but the Bears put a new surface down, which is hoped to be an improvement over last year’s shoddy mess.
