The 49ers released Sunday’s No. 3 receiver, and now they are looking for some reinforcements.

Willie Snead IV, who played 21 snaps vs. the Rams, was cut on Monday from the 53-man roster, and is likely to return to the practice squad. Taking his place may be one of the seven players San Francisco worked out on Monday. As first reported by ESPN’s Field Yates, they were as follows: WRs Mohamed Sanu, Adam Humphries, Austin Mack, Tajae Sharpe, DBs Troy Pride, Iman Marshall and Benjie Franklin.

Sanu is the familiar name on that list, as he spent time with the 49ers in 2020 and 2021, playing a combined 11 games. He hasn’t been able to land with a team consistently since his 838 receiving yard season with the Falcons in 2018.

Humphries is also experienced, and played in all 17 games for the Commanders last season. Mack spent the beginning of this season on the 49ers practice squad.

Deebo Samuel and Jauan Jennings now have two weeks to get healthy with the bye, which is likely why the 49ers got rid of Snead. If neither are able to go for SF’s next game, the 49ers would only have Brandon Aiyuk, Danny Gray and Ray-Ray McCloud as their receivers.

As far as corners are concerned, should Jason Verrett be able to go on November 13, he would be the favorite to start alongside Charvarius Ward.
