Kevin Durant could miss the remainder of the regular season.

Before his first home game on Wednesday, Durant had a freak slip and fall, limping off the court before returning to finish his warmups. He missed the 132-101 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The injury could be problematic for a team many expect to contend for the title.

According to a Thursday report from Greg Moore of the Arizona Republic, “… there is concern within the organization that Durant has a grade 2 sprain, which would keep him out for between four and six weeks.”

In an extremely crowded Western Conference, that could massively affect the playoff picture.

Phoenix currently holds the fourth seed at 37-29, with Golden State in fifth at 34-32. The Sacramento Kings and Memphis Grizzlies sit two games ahead of Phoenix at 38-26 in second and third, respectively.

Golden State has a plethora of teams on its heels, effectively tied with the 35-33 Los Angeles Clippers and with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks a half game back in the seventh and eighth seeds.

The Suns and Warriors play at Chase Center on Monday. Golden State will face the Grizzlies and Milwaukee Bucks before then, with the Suns facing the Kings.
