The Chicago Bears have decided they are going to continue riding with Justin Fields, and have cashed out on the No. 1 pick in the draft.

The Bears reportedly traded the pick to the Carolina Panthers on Friday, for a haul of picks and wide receiver D.J. Moore according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

In addition to Moore, the Bears are receiving the Panthers’ first-round pick, No. 9 overall; the 61st pick; another first-rounder in 2024 and a second-rounder in 2025.

The move allows the Panthers to move up and select their quarterback of the future, while the Bears now have a number one receiver to pair with Fields. Moore has been excellent for Carolina, posting 1,000 yard seasons in 2019, 2020 and 2021 with inconsistent quarterback play.

It is assumed that the Bears will select either Bryce Young (Alabama) or C.J. Stroud (Ohio State) with the No. 1 overall pick. It’s the first time they’ve selected No. 1 overall since picking Cam Newton in 2011.
