All of a sudden, Andrew Wiggins’ injury status is uncertain.

The star Warriors wing has been excellent in the playoffs so far after a two-month-long absence due to a personal matter. On Wednesday night, he scored a playoff-high 25 points (10-of-18 from the field, 2-of-5 from deep), along with 7 rebounds, 5 assists and a steal.

But the injury report before Friday’s pivotal Game 6 in Los Angeles shows Wiggins as questionable with a seriously concerning injury.

Per Anthony Slater, it’s a fracture of his left costal cartilage — the area of cartilage connecting the interior of the ribs to each other and the sternum — which is the same injury Kevon Looney had and played through in the 2019 NBA Finals.

If the Warriors are without Wiggins, it’s tough to see them finishing the 3-1 comeback. Even if he’s limited, it’s a situation that buoys the Lakers further.

Golden State will have to tie the series on Friday night if they’re going to keep their championship hopes and dynasty alive.
