For the second time in a week, the 49ers are peering over into the talent pool of the XFL. The X, if you haven’t been following, doesn’t officially stand for anything, but it is a cool letter.

San Francisco reportedly worked out former Wisconsin, Notre Dame and XFL Fighting Brahmas quarterback Jack Coan earlier this week.

Now, they’re dipping their toes in again.

Per resident hype reporter Jordan Schultz, the 49ers worked out Seattle Sea Dragons star receiver Jahcour Pearson for the second time.

Pearson was named the XFL’s Offensive Player of the Year after a league-leading 60 catches for 670 yards and 4 touchdowns in 10 games. He caught passes from Ben ‘The Nuch is Loose’ DiNucci in Seattle.

He played his college ball at Western Kentucky, where he peaked with a 76-catch, 804-yard, 7 TD season in 2019 before transferring to Ole Miss in the middle of his redshirt senior season. Miraculously, he never caught a single touchdown pass in any of his five other college seasons.
