With Jordan Poole shipped off to the DMV in exchange for Chris Paul, the Golden State Warriors’ focus shifts to Draymond Green.

According to NBA Insider Marc Stein, who runs TheSteinLine Substack (previously at The New York Times), the prevailing belief is that Green will return to the Warriors, likely on a three-year deal.

From Stein:

I continue to hear nothing but strong confidence emanating from the Bay Area that an agreement on a multi-year deal for Green to stay right where he’s always been is forthcoming.

(A three-year deal, league sources say, is a popular current projection for the 33-year-old.)

That timeline would align perfectly with Stephen Curry’s contract. Curry, at age 35, has three years and $157.5 million left on his deal. It’s hard to see the Warriors extending one of Curry’s contemporaries beyond that.

As it stands, Andrew Wiggins is the only player with a contract that extends past Curry’s, with a $30.17 million player option in 2026.
